Japan

Tokyo

8 °C

Hey everyone,

Well we are finally here in Japan! The flight was pretty good... I made the quote "i love flying" and i'm still sticking with it - 10 lovely hours on the plane but it felt like 3! Brendon did pretty well considering that he was sick! We got into Narita airport at around 8.30pm then we had to catch an airport bus to the grand hyatt which was another 2 hours... When we finally got to our apartment it was around 11.30 (thats Japanese time which is currently 2hrs behind melbourne time) then our black taggy thing didnt work to let us in and i think the conceirge thought we were lying about staying here, but after some persistance he let us in! We are staying in Roppongi which is really cool, lots happening and everything is a really short walk! The toilet and shower tripped us out a bit its all automatic so it flushes for you, warms the seats etc.. luckily Estela (the cleaner) helped us out coz we were really lost! Today we just went to the Ginza strip and looked around, it was pretty hectic, Brendon said we could only walk past the stores and we couldnt go in them - which was quite painful! We also succesfully navigated the subway, which i am proud of! Oh at our apartment they have the cutest cat, its like garfield, we dont have them in Australia but its the biggest fluffiest thing ever! and its got a squashed pug like face! The Japanese celebrated Christmas today (24th) - but i said nope i'm doing it tomorrow! There heaps of christmas trees and naughty mrs claus outfits (which i found pretty weird and their like $80). I think we are going to do a helicoptor flight over Tokyo tomorrow nite which should be awesome - havent got many cool photos yet but i suppose technically its only day 1! Its not very cold here, i was walking around in my thongs all day but nite-time is pretty chilly. Oh brendon keeps tryna give people too much money so i'm not letting him touch it he bought something that was $30 and handed over $300! Its funny coz he'll speak Japanese to someone and when they respond he wont know what to say! hahaha... I'm lovin the vending machines everywhere... they can be found in the most random places! I'm gonna hit the all you can eat sushi bar tomorrow as well... mmm its like a dream!
Oh Cassie - i was watching The Nightmare Before Christmas : in japanese - it just made jack skellington look/sound riduculous i should get it on dvd for you! hahaha...

Anyways probably should go.. hopefully next time i'll have some really good photos to put up!
Luvs ya's all - Merry Christmas to everyone for tomorrow!

Make sure if you go to Harajuku that you go on a Sunday...thats when all the people dress up crazy a la Gwen Stefani. Ohh I'm so jealous..haha man those vending machines haha...how random are they! Have you seen the funny signs that forbid smoking and walking at the same time?? Congrats on working out the subway as well!! Loveeee you xoxoxo
